Why Choose the Nepal Route for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Kailash-yatra-itinarary-2027-guide
Mount Kailash Parikrama Route Map 2027.

You can reach Kailash Mansarovar trip planning by three main route Kailash Yatra by road from Nepal, Kailash Yatra via Lhasa, from Nepal and Nepal with a Kailash Yatra by helicopter from Nepal. The Nepal route wins for a few plain reasons.

  • You book with a private operator, with Holy Kailash Tours.
  • Fixed Departure dates are flexible, mostly between late May and early September.
  • It suits foreign nationals and Indian pilgrims alike.
  • You can pick a road only trip or add helicopter sections.
  • Trips run about 9 to 14 days depending on the package.

The trade off is cost. Private Kailash Mansarovar tour packages usually cost more than the MEA Lipulekh route, which was around INR 2.09 lakh per person in 2026. I’m not quoting a 2027 price here because permit fees aren’t confirmed. Anyone who gives you a fixed number this early is guessing.

The best season for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from Nepal runs from May to September. June to August gives the steadiest weather. Nights are still freezing at altitude, even in July.

Some pilgrims prefer to leave during a full moon, in particular in the Saga Dawa period that typically falls in May or June. The night sky over Lake Manasarovar is unforgettable. The only problem is the crowd, so plan ahead.

Check your travel dates against the Tibet permit timeline. Permits are issued through a licensed operator, and you can’t apply on your own.
