Trip Introduction
It is a one-day package that is ideal for trekkers escaping city life and wanting to discover new terrain near the Kathmandu Valley. Hiking offers unobstructed views of beautiful green mountains, Himalayan views (Langtang, Ganesh & Rolwaling), the Budhanilkantha temple, the Shivapuri Wildlife Reserve, and the natural fountain at Sundarijal.
For those seeking a short hike in a short time, the Shivapuri trek is a great choice. Shivapuri, Narayanthan, and Sundarijal are the main destinations of the expedition. It is the second tallest hill around the Kathmandu Valley, rising to 2563 m just north of Kathmandu.
In the trip designed by Holy Kailash Tours, we start at Budhanilkantha, the shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu, where a sleeping statue of the divinity is waiting to greet us. The trip takes about 2–3 hours to pass through the conservation area of Shivapuri and visit Nagi Gumpa, the largest Buddhist monastery for nuns, on top of the highest mountain. We admire the beautiful view of the eternal white of the Himalayas, foliage, and rare birds upon reaching the top.
Generally, Shivapuri Hiking is not just acclaimed for its biodiversity and Himalayan ranges; instead, it is a journey paving the way for experiencing the cultural diversity in rural settlements.
Trekking beginners and those with no technical skills may enjoy the Shivapuri Hiking Tour. Shivapuri's best hiking season takes place in the months of September–October & March–May each year.
